NOTAS TEÓRICAS SOBRE A ECONOMIA POLÍTICA DO ESPAÇO

Abstract

This article focuses on environmental policy of commodi-fication of nature as model of conservation and manage-ment for Tijuca National Park, in the context of consolida-tion of the neoliberal project for Rio de Janeiro city. This scenario represents the emergence of the environment as a new contradiction of urban issues, directly related to soci-ety and nature in contradiction to contemporary capital-ism. For intent, we will try to build some necessary media-tions between Geography and Marxism, aiming to demon-strate the epistemological and methodological potential of integration between that and the historical and dialectical materialism in interpreting these new contradictions, col-laborating in the creation of a social theory grounded in the theoretical framework of political economy of space.
