OS PENETRAS DO ESPETÁCULO
Abstract
This article aims to investigate the possible contributions from the point-of-view of migrants to build a more egali-tarian society. In order to do so, we supported our analysis on the writings of Guy Debord’s “Society of the Spectacle”, comparing with the readings of some verses found in Wil-liam Shakespeare’s piece “As You Like It”. The main objec-tive is to observe the role of those who will be part of the city, the subject-migrant. It is undeniable the attraction urban areas generate on people, and it is necessary to think on those that, if they do not live in the city, they may move any time in the future; to think on those people that come form other cities, who are used to urban life, but are unaware of the particularities of the new city they are transferring themselves to. Hence, this essay proposes an analysis of the role of the migrant as a subject in the city, uninvited, but present in the urban spectacle. It is ex-pected to demonstrate the importance of this subject’s point-of-view over the specta-cle, his role in the demonstrations, We make echo to the proposals of Raoul Vaneigem, where the answer to the end of the spectacle may come not in the format of some collec-tive action; the urban subjects will end with the dictatorship of appearances through the sights of each one, individually, reversing the capitalist urban logic.
