PAISAGEM, GEOGRAFIA E CINEMA: POSSIBILIDADES PARA A RETOMADA DE UM CONCEITO-CHAVE

Abstract

Although directly attributed to the vision, landscape is presented as a rich concepct and going beyond the vision, because it reveals its dimensions also through the perception with other human senses. Even being polisemic, it had been for a long time a key concept for Geography; nevertheless, the fragmentation of this discipline’s knowledge put it on the background, emphasizing other concepts. In this piece of work we seek to make a brief retake of geographical perspective on landscape, and since it presents both material and ideological aspects, we use the representation of cinematographical image in order to widen our debate on the possibility to retake this concept, which we believe to be essential for comprehending the study of Geography.
