Abstract

This paper has the intention to demonstrate the concept of landscape when understood in its geographical dimension, can provide a basis for landscape decoding today. It will be used the pre-columbian cultural landscape of populations of Amazon Indians, and so will be an image analysis, and interpretation of these landscapes trying to understand the man-nature relationship in the past and today those territories, to end, analyze how these landscapes are used and how they are represented in the modern setting. The geographic approach allows us to reflection and identification of hidden issues in existing imagery. Thus, from this analysis highlights the interest in the concept of landscape as a basis for the development not only of geography studies, but also of interdisciplinary sciences that integrate.
