Didactizing the study, complexifing the education: geographical education exercises for a citizenship in the Rio de Janeiro area – a agroflorestry education propose

Abstract

In order to integrate the traditional dichotomy of the geographical studies, this article seeks to articulate questions of geographical research with pedagogical practices on geography graduation. the thematic developed here, brings to sphere of the fluminense’s government public policies, the discussion about the life quality standards defined for the rural area of Rio de Janeiro state, proposing potentials ways to make smalls farmers becomes even more responsible for the food supply in the region, through agroecological activities. This type of activity should promote the endogenous development and preservation of the natural resources in the fluminense’s rural area, considering essential geomorphologic and environmental issues for the sustainable agricultural production. Besides the study’s focus on the public policies for sustainability, the thematic also exalts the need of a work on the basic formation of childrens, young people, and state’s farmers so the agroecology, more than a simple theme, can also be conceived as a structural center in the rural schools and agricultural cooperatives, promoting actions capable to improve the sustainability of the local populations. Without the traditional dichotomy between the areas of geographical knowledge and combining this to the basic and technical education, we are going to try to propose a more sustainable and more inclusive management of the fluminense’s territory with the major target in the state’s social development.
