Society-nature relations in the Rocinha’s slum: building the health ambient

Abstract

The current discussion is based on the concept of quality of life and shows the construction of a concept of health involving the social dynamic and nature dynamic and focusing the constant residence of certain endemic and epidemic factors related to health. The reappearance of "old new" epidemics offer evidence of some important topics to work, development studies and research to professionals in the linked issue to the geography of Health. The topic discussed in this paper is aware of these issues, especially the need to a geographical contribution in understanding the reproduction of urban space and the search for a preventive health care, regarding the local development of Rocinha´s slum.
