FROM MODERNITY TO SUSTAINABILITY: THE PERPETUATION OF A DISCOURSE

Abstract

Many centuries ago, several agents of a world, which wasn’t so much known until that moment, imposed us the fact that without their modern advances, we would never stop being underdeveloped. Nowadays these same agents return telling us that because of our modernity the world will get in a break-down that will culminate in the end of the human species. To stop it we need to be, according to according those agents, more ecologically sustainable. Since that, I’ve put the question that I would like to clarify on this short research: what kind of sustainability are we looking for? Or, what kind of sustainability we’ve been compiled to look for?
