Abstract

The debate about Brazilian agricultural reality has bean submitted for a long time to the discussion around what was the “character” of the Brazilian revolution that had, in the view, to be installed. In this discussion, was, in one side, Alberto Passos Guimarães who affirms the necessity of overcoming the feudal inheritance that still persists; in order to promote the production forces, while on the other hand was Caio Prado Junior affirming that our economy has always been a capitalist one, and that it was necessary consciousness and organization of the rural working class in order to capacitate them to the struggle for better working conditions.
